A Manatee County Roofer With a Local Branch in Bradenton

R.I.G. Roofing is a faith-based, family-owned roofing contractor that has served Florida homeowners since 2005. In Manatee County we work from our Suncoast Division in Bradenton. We repair and replace shingle, metal, tile, and TPO or PVC flat roofs for homes and businesses across the county, and most residential replacements are finished in one day. Every job starts with a free roof assessment and is backed by a 10 to 20 year workmanship warranty.

Manatee runs from the Gulf beaches of Anna Maria Island to the farm and ranch country east of I-75, and the roofs change along the way. A 1920s bungalow in Bradenton's Wares Creek neighborhood, a tile roof in a Lakewood Ranch village, a new build in Parrish, and a beach cottage that takes salt spray every day all need different answers.

Branch Manager Nathan Tanksley leads the Suncoast team, and owners James and Bridget Curtis hold every branch to the same promise: tell homeowners the truth about their roof, even when the truth is a small repair instead of a big sale.

We had a big problem in our master bathroom with the roof leaking. Rig sent out Elijah who inspected our roof, had an idea of what was wrong but wanted to do a water test. The next day he came out with his supervisor and they what they needed to do. I asked for worst case scenario pricing and what they really thought it would take (prepare for the worst, hope for the best). They provided their quote and was out in a few days. Well the repair turned out to be the best case. In fact, it came out less expensive then the best case quote.

Elijah and everyone else I spoke with was amazing with their communications, they came out when they said their would, and extremely clean.

When time comes from the roof replacement I am 100% going back to Rig Roofing based on this experience. - Hide

Absolute 5-star experience from start to finish!
We recently used R.I.G. Roofing for a project on our family home at Lake Mirror in Winter Haven after dealing with a frustrating roof leak. From the very beginning, their coordination was flawless. Their website was incredibly easy to navigate, and after filling out the contact form, we received an immediate response. Wow!The entire process was completely seamless. Every single step, from the initial consultation to the inspection with a higher-level manager, receiving the estimate, the actual roof work, and the follow-up care, was handled with total professionalism. It is clear that every department at R.I.G. works hand-in-hand. - Hide

RIG Roofing and Construction, solved my flat carport roof issues. Emory came out and thoroughly went over my whole roof and took lots of pictures. He listened to what I had to say and offered two options. The crew arrived early, managed by Isai and supervised by Aaron. Let me tell you they worked. This was a complex job and watching them was like watching a well organized group. They took down the flat part, built a temporary wall to hold the exterior structure up. They replaced the structural beam, by building it in place. Attached the cross beams and replaced the plywood. Then added the ISO board to create a slight tilt, so the water would flow off the roof. Then covered it with TPO sheeting. All this in one day and it poured for an hour or so. I was impressed. Thank you so much for the work well done. - Hide

MANATEE COUNTY ROOFING GUIDE

How Roofing Changes Across Manatee County

Bradenton and Palmetto

Bradenton is home to our Suncoast Division and to some of the oldest roofs in the county. Neighborhoods like Wares Creek, the Village of the Arts and Palma Sola have bungalows and mid-century block homes where we often find older board decking or more than one layer of shingles. Across the Manatee River, Palmetto has a similar mix of older homes, waterfront properties and small commercial buildings.

Lakewood Ranch, Parrish and East County

Most of the county's growth is east of I-75 in Lakewood Ranch, Parrish and the communities around them. These are largely newer HOA builds with architectural shingle or concrete tile roofs, color and material rules to follow, and builder-grade components that can start showing their age sooner than owners expect.

Anna Maria Island and the Coast

On Anna Maria Island and along the bay, salt air is the biggest enemy of a roof. It corrodes fasteners, drip edge and flashing years before the roof covering itself wears out, so material and fastener choices matter more here than anywhere else in the county.

Every Roof Type Has a Place in Manatee County

No single material wins everywhere, and we install and repair all of them:

  • Architectural shingles cover many Manatee homes and are usually the lowest upfront cost.
  • Metal roofing is a long-term choice for coastal homes, rural properties and anyone tired of storm repairs.
  • Concrete and clay tile is common in Lakewood Ranch and other HOA and golf communities.
  • Flat sections over lanais and the low-slope tops of shops and offices are usually rebuilt in TPO or PVC membranes.

What Recent Storms Have Taught Us About Manatee Roofs

In late September 2024, Hurricane Helene's storm surge flooded much of Anna Maria Island and the Bradenton waterfront. Less than two weeks later, on October 9, 2024, Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key in neighboring Sarasota County as a Category 3 storm and pushed damaging winds across Manatee County. The pattern we saw afterward is the one we still check for: missing shingles, cracked and lifted tiles, torn flat-roof membranes, and water getting in at ridge vents and flashing.

Who Issues Roof Permits in Manatee County?

Roofs inside Bradenton city limits are permitted through the City of Bradenton Building and Permitting Division. Unincorporated areas, including the Manatee side of Lakewood Ranch and Parrish, go through Manatee County Building and Development Services, while Palmetto and the island cities handle their own permits. Because the right office depends on the exact address, we confirm it for every job, pull the permit, and schedule the required inspections ourselves.

If your roof is only a few years old, enrolling it in our Roof Maintenance Program means a trained set of eyes checks it on a schedule. For older ones, a free roof assessment tells you honestly whether repair or replacement makes more sense.

We pull the permit either way.

Salt air attacks fasteners and flashing first. Near the water we specify corrosion-resistant fasteners, drip edge and flashing, and many owners choose metal roofing for its long life.

Most Lakewood Ranch and Parrish associations do. We provide the material, color and profile details your HOA asks for so approval moves quickly.
