A New Point Comfort Roofer You Can Trust
R.I.G. Roofing is a faith-based, family-owned roofing contractor that has served Central Florida since 2005, and our crews work in New Point Comfort from our Suncoast Division in Bradenton, backed by our home office in Winter Haven. We repair and replace shingle, metal, tile, and TPO or PVC flat roofs for homes, manufactured homes, churches and businesses. Every job starts with a free roof assessment, most residential replacements are finished in one day, and every new roof is backed by a 10 to 20 year workmanship warranty.
New Point Comfort was named in 1891 and platted in 1925 as the first subdivision on the Charlotte County side of Englewood, on Lemon Bay. Homes here include waterfront houses, older cottages and block homes.
Owners James and Bridget Curtis built the company on a simple promise: tell homeowners the truth about their roof, even when the truth is a small repair instead of a big sale. That is still how we work today.

We had a big problem in our master bathroom with the roof leaking. Rig sent out Elijah who inspected our roof, had an idea of what was wrong but wanted to do a water test. The next day he came out with his supervisor and they what they needed to do. I asked for worst case scenario pricing and what they really thought it would take (prepare for the worst, hope for the best). They provided their quote and was out in a few days. Well the repair turned out to be the best case. In fact, it came out less expensive then the best case quote.
Elijah and everyone else I spoke with was amazing with their communications, they came out when they said their would, and extremely clean.
When time comes from the roof replacement I am 100% going back to Rig Roofing based on this experience.

Absolute 5-star experience from start to finish!
We recently used R.I.G. Roofing for a project on our family home at Lake Mirror in Winter Haven after dealing with a frustrating roof leak. From the very beginning, their coordination was flawless. Their website was incredibly easy to navigate, and after filling out the contact form, we received an immediate response. Wow!The entire process was completely seamless. Every single step, from the initial consultation to the inspection with a higher-level manager, receiving the estimate, the actual roof work, and the follow-up care, was handled with total professionalism. It is clear that every department at R.I.G. works hand-in-hand.

I am so pleased with RIG ROOFING! I didn't have any problems at all from start to finish. Emory McTeer was the person I met with to get the project started. Angelina kept me informed about everything during the whole process. Aaron who supervised the job was very helpful and professional. The crew was very nice. Everyone involved exceeded my expectations! - Hide

RIG Roofing and Construction, solved my flat carport roof issues. Emory came out and thoroughly went over my whole roof and took lots of pictures. He listened to what I had to say and offered two options. The crew arrived early, managed by Isai and supervised by Aaron. Let me tell you they worked. This was a complex job and watching them was like watching a well organized group. They took down the flat part, built a temporary wall to hold the exterior structure up. They replaced the structural beam, by building it in place. Attached the cross beams and replaced the plywood. Then added the ISO board to create a slight tilt, so the water would flow off the roof. Then covered it with TPO sheeting. All this in one day and it poured for an hour or so. I was impressed. Thank you so much for the work well done. - Hide
A New Point Comfort Roofing Guide for Homeowners
Bayfront and Older Homes
Homes near the water here take steady salt air and Gulf or harbor wind, which wears out flashing, fasteners and older metal faster than on homes inland. We check every one of those parts, plus the decking, and use corrosion-resistant fasteners and flashing on every waterfront job.
Choosing a Roof for Your New Point Comfort Home
-
Metal roofing is a top choice for waterfront homes because it holds up to coastal wind.
-
Architectural shingles are the most affordable choice for many homes here.
-
Tile shows up on some newer and custom homes.
-
Low-slope lanais, carports and additions are rebuilt in TPO or PVC.
What Storms Have Taught Us
Hurricane Milton's winds damaged homes across the Englewood area in October 2024, two weeks after Hurricane Helene's surge. Storms like these are why we check every roof for lifted shingles, loose ridge caps, failed pipe boots, loose metal panels and rusted flashing.
New Point Comfort Roof Permits
New Point Comfort is in unincorporated Charlotte County, so roof permits are issued by Charlotte County Building Construction Services through its Citizen Access Portal. Jobs over $5,000 also need a recorded Notice of Commencement before the first inspection, and homes in high-risk flood zones can have extra rules. We pull the permit and schedule the inspections for every roof replacement we do.
Communities Near New Point Comfort
Our crews also serve Englewood, Manasota Key, Grove City and the rest of Charlotte County. Not sure where to start? Book a free roof assessment.
