Absolute 5-star experience from start to finish!
We recently used R.I.G. Roofing for a project on our family home at Lake Mirror in Winter Haven after dealing with a frustrating roof leak. From the very beginning, their coordination was flawless. Their website was incredibly easy to navigate, and after filling out the contact form, we received an immediate response. Wow!The entire process was completely seamless. Every single step, from the initial consultation to the inspection with a higher-level manager, receiving the estimate, the actual roof work, and the follow-up care, was handled with total professionalism. I am so pleased with RIG ROOFING! I didn't have any problems at all from start to finish. Emory McTeer was the person I met with to get the project started. RIG Roofing and Construction, solved my flat carport roof issues. Emory came out and thoroughly went over my whole roof and took lots of pictures. He listened to what I had to say and offered two options. The crew arrived early, managed by Isai and supervised by Aaron. Let me tell you they worked. This was a complex job and watching them was like watching a well organized group. They took down the flat part, built a temporary wall to hold the exterior structure up. They replaced the structural beam, by building it in place. Attached the cross beams and replaced the plywood. Then added the ISO board to create a slight tilt, so the water would flow off the roof. Then covered it with TPO sheeting. All this in one day and it poured for an hour or so. I was impressed. Thank you so much for the work well done. - Hide

I cannot say enough great things about Aaron Chandler and RIG Roofing! Aaron's communication throughout the entire process was exceptional. He was responsive at all hours of the day and understood how important our timeline was. We needed a complete reroof finished in time to satisfy insurance requirements, bind coverage, and keep our real estate closing on schedule with no delays.
RIG Roofing delivered! The entire reroof was completed in just one day, and I was extremely impressed with the quality, efficiency, and professionalism of the crew. Even the neighbors commented on how amazed they were with the process and quality of the work.
What impressed me just as much was the attention to detail. The landscaping and exterior of the home were kept in meticulous condition throughout the project, everything was cleaned up beautifully, and they even left spare shingles for the homeowners should they ever need them in the future.

What Port Charlotte Homeowners Should Know About Their Roofs
A Community Built Around Canals and Concrete Block
Port Charlotte took shape in the 1950s, when the General Development Corporation laid out thousands of homesites at the north end of Charlotte Harbor. Today it is the most populous community in Charlotte County, and its streets mix original block ranch homes, canal-front houses with docks and lanais, newer construction on infill lots, and a number of manufactured home parks. Each of those comes with its own roofing needs, and our crews handle all of them.
Roof Systems We Install Across Port Charlotte
Walk any Port Charlotte street and you will see every kind of roof, and we help owners weigh cost, style, and lifespan honestly:
-
Dimensional shingles cover a large share of Port Charlotte homes and remain the most affordable way to put a new, code-compliant roof on a block house. Learn about shingle roofs
-
Standing seam and 5V metal are popular with canal-front owners who want long service life and strong wind ratings. Learn about metal roofs
-
Concrete tile shows up on many newer and higher-end homes and in deed-restricted communities. Learn about tile roofs
-
Low-slope sections over lanais, carports, Florida rooms, and commercial buildings get TPO or PVC membranes.
Shingle, metal, tile, and flat roofs all have a place in Port Charlotte, and we install and repair every one of them.
Hurricane Ian and the Storms That Shaped Local Roofs
Charlotte County has taken two direct hits from major hurricanes in under twenty years. Hurricane Charley came ashore near Charlotte Harbor as a Category 4 storm in August 2004, and Hurricane Ian made landfall at Cayo Costa as a Category 4 on September 28, 2022, with the eye passing over southeastern Port Charlotte. Post-storm wind studies estimated peak gusts of 150 to 160 mph from Sanibel through Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. Two years later, Hurricane Milton in October 2024 brought gusts of roughly 70 to 80 mph to the county.
Because of that history, many Port Charlotte roofs are either quite new or were patched in a hurry after a storm. On older roofs we often find loose edge shingles, cracked or slipped tiles, tired underlayment, rusted fasteners near salt air, and poorly sealed lanai tie-ins.
Who Issues Roof Permits in Port Charlotte?
Port Charlotte is not an incorporated city, so roof permits here are handled by Charlotte County's Building Construction Services office. A re-roof application lists the wind zone, roof slope, deck type, and the Florida product approval numbers for both the underlayment and the roof covering, and a recorded Notice of Commencement is needed on most jobs. R.I.G. Roofing prepares and submits that paperwork, schedules the inspections, and keeps you informed until the final sign-off.
Fix It or Start Fresh?
A newer roof with damage in one spot usually just needs a professional roof repair. When a roof has leaked in several places, has brittle or curling shingles across every slope, or has tile underlayment near the end of its life, a roof replacement usually costs less over time than repeated patching. Our free roof assessment includes photos so you can see the evidence yourself, and the Roof Maintenance Program keeps a sound roof that way between storm seasons.
Port Charlotte Areas and Neighboring Communities
We work throughout Port Charlotte, from Murdock near the US 41 and SR 776 junction to the canal neighborhoods along the harbor and the Port Charlotte Golf and Country Club area, plus neighboring Charlotte Harbor and, across the Peace River, Harbour Heights and Deep Creek. Our Suncoast crews also serve Punta Gorda, Englewood, Rotonda, North Port, and all of Charlotte County.

Port Charlotte Roofing FAQs
Your price comes down to square footage, pitch, material, and how much soft decking we find once the old roof is off. For planning purposes, a typical shingle job on a Port Charlotte home lands somewhere around $8,000 to $18,000, and metal or tile projects usually sit in the $10,000 to $30,000 range. We measure in person and put a free estimate in writing, with financing for qualified homeowners.
Yes. Because Port Charlotte is unincorporated, re-roof permits come from Charlotte County Building Construction Services. We file the application with the required product approvals, record the Notice of Commencement, and book every inspection for you.
Each option performs well when installed to current code. Metal offers long life and strong wind ratings, concrete tile suits many home styles, and dimensional shingles give excellent value. On canal homes we pay close attention to fasteners and edge metal that can corrode in salt air.
Yes. We offer mobile home roofing in addition to standard residential and commercial work, so manufactured home owners in Port Charlotte can get the same inspection, estimate, and warranty process as any other customer.
Most shingle and metal residential projects are finished in a single day once the permit is issued. Tile roofs, large homes, and jobs where we uncover damaged decking may need two or three days, and we tell you the expected timeline up front.
Stay safe first and do not climb onto a damaged roof. Take photos from the ground, move belongings away from any leaks, and call us at (863) 294-4477 . Our Emergency Dry In service can protect the opening, and we will document the damage in case you choose to involve your insurance company.
