An Avon Park Roofer You Can Trust
R.I.G. Roofing is a faith-based, family-owned roofing contractor that has served Central Florida since 2005, and our crews work in Avon Park every week from our home office and showroom in Winter Haven, a straight drive down US-27. We repair and replace shingle, metal, tile, and TPO or PVC flat roofs for homes, manufactured homes, churches and businesses. Every job starts with a free roof assessment, most residential replacements are finished in one day, and every new roof is backed by a 10 to 20 year workmanship warranty.
Known as the City of Charm, Avon Park has some of the oldest homes in Highlands County, with block and frame houses around downtown Main Street and lakefront homes on Lake Verona, Lake Lotela and Lake Isis. Many are on their second or third roof, and many owners are seasonal residents who want work done before they head north or after they return.
Owners James and Bridget Curtis built the company on a simple promise: tell homeowners the truth about their roof, even when the truth is a small repair instead of a big sale. That is still how we work today.

I am so pleased with RIG ROOFING! I didn't have any problems at all from start to finish. Emory McTeer was the person I met with to get the project started. Angelina kept me informed about everything during the whole process. Aaron who supervised the job was very helpful and professional. The crew was very nice. RIG Roofing and Construction, solved my flat carport roof issues. Emory came out and thoroughly went over my whole roof and took lots of pictures. He listened to what I had to say and offered two options. The crew arrived early, managed by Isai and supervised by Aaron. Let me tell you they worked. This was a complex job and watching them was like watching a well organized group. They took down the flat part, built a temporary wall to hold the exterior structure up. They replaced the structural beam, by building it in place. Attached the cross beams and replaced the plywood. Then added the ISO board to create a slight tilt, so the water would flow off the roof. Then covered it with TPO sheeting. All this in one day and it poured for an hour or so. I was impressed. Thank you so much for the work well done. - Hide

I cannot say enough great things about Aaron Chandler and RIG Roofing! Aaron's communication throughout the entire process was exceptional. He was responsive at all hours of the day and understood how important our timeline was. We needed a complete reroof finished in time to satisfy insurance requirements, bind coverage, and keep our real estate closing on schedule with no delays.
RIG Roofing delivered! The entire reroof was completed in just one day, and I was extremely impressed with the quality, efficiency, and professionalism of the crew. Even the neighbors commented on how amazed they were with the process and quality of the work.
What impressed me just as much was the attention to detail. The landscaping and exterior of the home were kept in meticulous condition throughout the project, everything was cleaned up beautifully, and they even left spare shingles for the homeowners should they ever need them in the future.

An Avon Park Roofing Guide for Homeowners
Older Homes Around Downtown and the Lakes
Avon Park was incorporated in 1926, and the streets around Main Street and the lakes still have plenty of homes from the city's early decades. On older houses we check for worn board decking, more than one layer of shingles, and low-slope porch or Florida room sections that were added later and drain poorly.
Choosing a Roof for Your Avon Park Home
-
Metal roofing is a favorite here for lake homes, manufactured homes and rural properties, and it holds up to the area's strong summer storms.
-
Architectural shingles are the most affordable option for many in-town homes.
-
Tile shows up on some newer and custom homes.
-
Flat and low-slope sections are rebuilt in TPO or PVC.
What Recent Storms Have Taught Us
When Hurricane Milton crossed the state in October 2024, the National Weather Service recorded gusts around 73 mph at the Avon Park Air Force Range, and an EF-0 tornado touched down in Avon Park. After storms like that we look for lifted shingles, loose ridge caps, failed pipe boots and metal panels with backed-out fasteners.
Avon Park Roof Permits
Avon Park is an incorporated city, so the first step is confirming whether your address is inside city limits or in unincorporated Highlands County. We handle the permit, the paperwork and the inspection schedule for every roof replacement we do.
