A Tangerine Roofer You Can Trust
R.I.G. Roofing is a faith-based, family-owned roofing contractor that has served Central Florida since 2005, and our crews work in Tangerine from our home office and showroom in Winter Haven. We repair and replace shingle, metal, tile, and TPO or PVC flat roofs for homes, manufactured homes, churches and businesses. Every job starts with a free roof assessment, most residential replacements are finished in one day, and every new roof is backed by a 10 to 20 year workmanship warranty.
Tangerine, once called Olaville, is a small lakeside community in northwest Orange County and was the home of novelist Pat Frank. Homes include lakefront houses and rural lots.
Owners James and Bridget Curtis built the company on a simple promise: tell homeowners the truth about their roof, even when the truth is a small repair instead of a big sale. That is still how we work today.

I am so pleased with RIG ROOFING! I didn't have any problems at all from start to finish. Emory McTeer was the person I met with to get the project started. RIG Roofing and Construction, solved my flat carport roof issues. Emory came out and thoroughly went over my whole roof and took lots of pictures. He listened to what I had to say and offered two options. The crew arrived early, managed by Isai and supervised by Aaron. Let me tell you they worked. This was a complex job and watching them was like watching a well organized group. They took down the flat part, built a temporary wall to hold the exterior structure up. They replaced the structural beam, by building it in place. Attached the cross beams and replaced the plywood. Then added the ISO board to create a slight tilt, so the water would flow off the roof. Then covered it with TPO sheeting. All this in one day and it poured for an hour or so. I was impressed. Thank you so much for the work well done. - Hide

I cannot say enough great things about Aaron Chandler and RIG Roofing! Aaron's communication throughout the entire process was exceptional. He was responsive at all hours of the day and understood how important our timeline was. We needed a complete reroof finished in time to satisfy insurance requirements, bind coverage, and keep our real estate closing on schedule with no delays.
RIG Roofing delivered! The entire reroof was completed in just one day, and I was extremely impressed with the quality, efficiency, and professionalism of the crew. Even the neighbors commented on how amazed they were with the process and quality of the work.
What impressed me just as much was the attention to detail. The landscaping and exterior of the home were kept in meticulous condition throughout the project, everything was cleaned up beautifully, and they even left spare shingles for the homeowners should they ever need them in the future.

A Tangerine Roofing Guide for Homeowners
Lakefront and Older Homes
Lakefront homes take more direct wind, and older homes can hide worn decking or past layers of shingles. We check ridge caps, edges, flashing and decking before we quote.
Choosing a Roof for Your Tangerine Home
-
Metal roofing is a long-lasting favorite on lakefront and manufactured homes.
-
Architectural shingles are the most common choice on many homes here.
-
Tile shows up on some newer and custom homes.
-
Low-slope porches, carports and additions are rebuilt in TPO or PVC.
What Storms Have Taught Us
Hurricane Charley's eye crossed Orange County in 2004 with gusts over 100 mph, Hurricane Ian brought historic flooding in 2022, and Hurricane Milton gusted to 87 mph in 2024. Storms like these are why we check every roof for lifted shingles, loose ridge caps, failed pipe boots and loose metal panels.
Tangerine Roof Permits
Tangerine is unincorporated, so roof permits are issued by the Orange County Division of Building Safety. We pull the permit and schedule the inspections for every roof replacement we do.
Communities Near Tangerine
Our crews also serve Zellwood, Plymouth, Apopka and the rest of Orange County. Not sure where to start? Book a free roof assessment.

Common Questions From Tangerine Homeowners
Yes. Tangerine is unincorporated, so a roof replacement needs an Orange County permit and inspections. We handle the permit and schedule the inspections for you.
Standing seam metal and high wind rated architectural shingles both stand up well to the extra wind on open lakefront lots. We walk you through the cost and lifespan of each during your free roof assessment.
It depends on the roof's age, the decking and any storm damage. A free roof assessment gives you an honest answer, including when a repair is enough for now.
Call (863) 294-4477 . Our team can tarp and dry in the damaged area to stop leaks, then document the damage for your insurance claim before permanent repairs.
