A Dover Roofer You Can Trust
R.I.G. Roofing is a faith-based, family-owned roofing contractor that has served Central Florida since 2005, and our crews work in Dover from our home office and showroom in Winter Haven. We repair and replace shingle, metal, tile, and TPO or PVC flat roofs for homes, townhomes, churches and businesses. Every job starts with a free roof assessment, most residential replacements are finished in one day, and every new roof is backed by a 10 to 20 year workmanship warranty.
Dover is a small farming community on US-92 between Brandon and Plant City, in the heart of east Hillsborough's strawberry belt and home to Strawberry Crest High School. Properties here include older homes, manufactured homes and farm acreage with barns, packing sheds and workshops.
Owners James and Bridget Curtis built the company on a simple promise: tell homeowners the truth about their roof, even when the truth is a small repair instead of a big sale. That is still how we work today.

We had a big problem in our master bathroom with the roof leaking. Rig sent out Elijah who inspected our roof, had an idea of what was wrong but wanted to do a water test. The next day he came out with his supervisor and they what they needed to do. I asked for worst case scenario pricing and what they really thought it would take (prepare for the worst, hope for the best). They provided their quote and was out in a few days. Well the repair turned out to be the best case. In fact, it came out less expensive then the best case quote.
Elijah and everyone else I spoke with was amazing with their communications, they came out when they said their would, and extremely clean.
When time comes from the roof replacement I am 100% going back to Rig Roofing based on this experience.

A Dover Roofing Guide for Homeowners
Farm Buildings and Rural Homes
Many Dover properties have more than one roof, from the house to barns and packing sheds. Exposed fastener metal needs its screws and washers checked, and older homes can hide worn decking, so we look at everything before we quote.
Choosing a Roof for Your Dover Home
-
Metal roofing is the favorite on farms, barns, manufactured homes and rural houses.
-
Architectural shingles are the most affordable choice for many homes here.
-
Tile shows up on some newer and custom homes.
-
Flat sections on shops and outbuildings are rebuilt in TPO or PVC.
What Storms Have Taught Us
Hurricane Irma crossed Hillsborough County in September 2017, and Hurricane Milton brought gusts of 80 to 100 mph and flooding rain across the county in October 2024. Storms like these are why we check every roof for lifted shingles, loose ridge caps, failed pipe boots and loose metal panels.
Dover Roof Permits
Dover is unincorporated, so roof permits are issued by Hillsborough County Development Services through its HillsGovHub online system. County re-roofs include a mid-job inspection before the final. We pull the permit and schedule the inspections for every roof replacement we do.
Communities Near Dover
Our crews also serve Plant City, Seffner, Brandon, Valrico and the rest of Hillsborough County. Not sure where to start? Book a free roof assessment.
