We had a big problem in our master bathroom with the roof leaking. Rig sent out Elijah who inspected our roof, had an idea of what was wrong but wanted to do a water test. The next day he came out with his supervisor and they what they needed to do. I asked for worst case scenario pricing and what they really thought it would take (prepare for the worst, hope for the best). They provided their quote and was out in a few days. Well the repair turned out to be the best case. In fact, it came out less expensive then the best case quote.
Elijah and everyone else I spoke with was amazing with their communications, they came out when they said their would, and extremely clean.
When time comes from the roof replacement I am 100% going back to Rig Roofing based on this experience.

Absolute 5-star experience from start to finish!
We recently used R.I.G. Roofing for a project on our family home at Lake Mirror in Winter Haven after dealing with a frustrating roof leak. From the very beginning, their coordination was flawless. Their website was incredibly easy to navigate, and after filling out the contact form, we received an immediate response. Wow!The entire process was completely seamless. Every single step, from the initial consultation to the inspection with a higher-level manager, receiving the estimate, the actual roof work, and the follow-up care, was handled with total professionalism. It is clear that every department at R.I.G. works hand-in-hand.

I am so pleased with RIG ROOFING! I didn't have any problems at all from start to finish. Emory McTeer was the person I met with to get the project started. RIG Roofing and Construction, solved my flat carport roof issues. Emory came out and thoroughly went over my whole roof and took lots of pictures. He listened to what I had to say and offered two options. The crew arrived early, managed by Isai and supervised by Aaron. Let me tell you they worked. This was a complex job and watching them was like watching a well organized group. They took down the flat part, built a temporary wall to hold the exterior structure up. They replaced the structural beam, by building it in place. Attached the cross beams and replaced the plywood. Then added the ISO board to create a slight tilt, so the water would flow off the roof. Then covered it with TPO sheeting. All this in one day and it poured for an hour or so. I was impressed. Thank you so much for the work well done. - Hide
What Sarasota Homeowners Should Know Before Roof Work
From 1920s Bungalows to Sarasota Modern
Sarasota's housing covers a full century. Laurel Park, a designated historic district near downtown, is lined with 1920s homes and bungalows, Towles Court and Gillespie Park are known for their older Florida cottages, and Indian Beach-Sapphire Shores, along the bay north of downtown, blends vintage homes with newer construction. The city is also famous for the Sarasota School of Architecture, whose mid-century designs often use low-slope or flat roof sections that need a different approach than a standard pitched roof.
Older cottages may have original wood plank decking and several generations of repairs. Mid-century homes often combine a pitched roof with flat areas over porches and additions. Newer homes in the surrounding suburbs are usually built with dimensional shingle or concrete tile. Our job is to understand the house first and then recommend materials that fit it.
Roof Systems We Install and Repair in Sarasota
Being near the Gulf means many Sarasota homes carry tile or metal, but shingle and flat roofs are just as common, and our crews work on all of them:
-
Tile roofing, both concrete and clay, on Mediterranean and Spanish-style homes throughout the city. Explore tile
-
Standing seam and exposed fastener metal, a smart choice for coastal wind and a good match for beach cottages and modern designs. Explore metal
-
Architectural shingles on many ranch and suburban homes, giving a clean look at a lower upfront cost. Explore shingles
-
Single-ply flat roofing for Sarasota School designs, additions, condos and commercial buildings, using TPO or PVC membranes.
Hurricane Milton and Coastal Wear
Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, just off Sarasota's shoreline, on the night of October 9, 2024 as a Category 3 hurricane. Many Sarasota roofs lost shingles, tiles or ridge caps, and others were left with damage that only showed up later as stains on the ceiling. Even in calm years, salt air wears on metal flashing and fasteners, and the summer rainy season tests every seal. If your roof has not been looked at since Milton, a free inspection is a good idea.
Sarasota Roofing Permits
For homes inside Sarasota city limits, roofing permits are issued by the City of Sarasota's Building and Permitting division within Development Services. Homes outside the city, in unincorporated Sarasota County, are permitted through Sarasota County's Planning and Development Services. R.I.G. Roofing confirms the correct jurisdiction, submits the permit and completes the required inspections with you.
Deciding Between a Repair and a New Roof
A few slipped tiles, a failed pipe boot or a small storm-damaged section are usually handled with roof repair. When the underlayment beneath a tile roof is worn out, or a shingle roof is losing granules everywhere, roof replacement is usually the better long-term choice. Begin with a free roof assessment, and keep a healthy roof healthy with our Roof Maintenance Program.
Neighborhoods and Nearby Cities We Serve
We serve homes throughout Sarasota, including Laurel Park, Gillespie Park, Towles Court, the Rosemary District, Indian Beach-Sapphire Shores and the neighborhoods along Tamiami Trail. Our Suncoast Division also works in Bradenton, North Port, Englewood, Punta Gorda and throughout Sarasota County.

Yes. Our Suncoast Division serves Sarasota from our Bradenton office, under Branch Manager Nathan Tanksley. We work on homes and commercial buildings throughout the city and the surrounding parts of Sarasota County.

Material is the biggest factor, followed by the size and shape of the roof and the condition of the decking. A typical architectural shingle replacement runs about $8,000 to $18,000, and tile or metal roofs commonly cost $10,000 to $30,000. Every Sarasota estimate is free and in writing, with financing for qualified homeowners.
Yes. Many Sarasota School and mid-century homes have low-slope sections. We install and repair TPO and PVC membranes and tie them carefully into the pitched parts of the roof so water drains the way it should.
The City of Sarasota's Building and Permitting division handles homes inside city limits, and Sarasota County handles unincorporated areas. Either way, the permit filing and the inspector visits are part of our job, not yours.
We recommend it. Wind can loosen tiles and break shingle seals without leaving obvious signs from the ground, and that damage often turns into a leak months later. A free assessment gives you photos and peace of mind.
Stay off the roof and keep your family safe. Take pictures from the ground and call (941) 896-7897 . If rain is getting in, our crew can put an Emergency Dry In cover over the opening to hold until repairs, and our photos are yours to share if you decide to call your insurer.
